Mayhew Associates Ltd in association with ppre Ltd are pleased to offer for licence three computer programs that automate two of the main procedures in Neighbourhood Knowledge Management - matching addresses between large administrative data sets and the creation of risk ladders. These are available for purchase in a number of different packages that include support and training as options.

 

Address Matching Program

 

The Address Matching program has been designed to match administrative datasets that contain client addresses to property databases, typically Local Land and Property Gazetteers. Mayhew Associates have used their experience of address matching acquired over 5 years in numerous NKM projects to develop a simple, flexible and efficient application.

Address Finder Program

 

Address matching large datasets typically produces a residual of records that require to be manually found on a property database. The Address Finder provides an interface that automatically cleans and deconstructs each individual address into elements to be selected for searching. Query results are displayed for the user to select from and matches are uploaded. The software runs on PCs running Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Risk Ladder Program

 

A risk ladder is the most compact and convenient way yet found for decomposing huge data sets consisting of households into mutually exclusive groups each with different exposure to risk factors. It is a tabulation of every possible combination of risk factor, for every household in every possible risk group. The algorithm can deal with up to 15 factors at a time (or 32,768 possible combinations). The tabulations are then used as a starting point for a range of descriptive statistics, risk analyses, statistical modelling and mapping to determine which factors are relevant, their frequency, affinity to other factors, spatial concentration etc.

 

Outputs for the risk ladder software comprise:

 

• Summary tables in Excel or Access showing the frequency of association between every risk factor combination and households
• Risk ladders in Excel or Access showing the risk of an event consequent on every combination of risk factors and the number of households in every risk category
