Professor Les Mayhew is Managing Director of Mayhew Harper Associates Ltd. and Professor of Statistics at Cass Business School, Faculty of Actuarial Sciences and Insurance. He is a former senior civil servant with nearly 20 years of experience in the Department of Health, Department of Social Security (DSS), Treasury (CSO), and ONS, where he was also a Director. Prior to Cass he was briefly professor of geography at Birkbeck College, and remains a long-standing Associate Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Vienna. He is a former Director of Operational Research in the DSS and an honorary fellow in both the Faculty of Public Health and Institute of Actuaries. John Eversley is Senior Lecturer in City University Community and Health Sciences and Senior Lecturer at London Metropolitan University and managing director of ppre Limited, a not-for- profit social research company. He has been a senior officer in local government and the NHS and works on the potential data sources, policy applications and implications of neighbourhood knowledge.

Sam Waples is a consultant at Mayhew Harper Associates. Sam is a GIS Analyst with expertise in crime analysis and economic profiling at Leicester University and Birkbeck College. Sam has an MSc in GIS from Nottingham University.

Steve McCarthy has been a management consultant, delivering a wide range of consulting services to the public sector, for over 20 years (primarily with Deloitte & Touche and more recently with Capita Consulting where he was Central Government Director, Operations Director and then Managing Director). Steve spent the previous 15 years in the Civil Service with a variety of Government Departments including Department of Transport, Department for Trade & Industry and HM Customs & Excise. He has an operational research background and, since retiring, has worked with Mayhew Harper Associates in the delivery of Neighbourhood Knowledge Management (NKM) to local government and health organisations as well as Local Strategic Partnerships.
